PATRICK TEAMS UP WITH GREEN HORNET RACING FOR ALMS MID-OHIO!ROTTERDAM, AUGUST 1 2012 – Patrick Huisman is looking forward to a brand new challenge this weekend as he will join Green Hornet Racing for the next American Le Mans Series (ALMS) round at Mid-Ohio. The Porsche veteran will team up with American driver Bob Faieta in the team’s #33 car.

Green Hornet Racing heads to this weekend’s Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge in pursuit of championship redemption as it will field two cars to the event. Next to the #33 challenger which is lead by Huisman, the team’s #34 car will be driven by Damien Faulkner and Peter LeSaffre.

Having run a partial 2011 campaign in partnership with other organizations, Green Hornet Racing embarks on its first full season effort for the 2012 season, this year running an in-house campaign in the American Le Mans Series GT-C ranks. Coming off of a 2011 season that featured improved finishes at every race, capped off with the team's first podium at Laguna Seca, the team looks to 2012 as a new opportunity to perform at the top level of professional sportscar racing. Having assembled a top-flight team of experienced engineers and technicians, the crew behind this new organization have amassed a number of wins and championships, and combined with a strong driver line-up, the team will be a contender at every race.

Number 33 team lead driver Patrick Huisman is most noted for his success in the European ranks. A multi-time winner and champion in the renowned Porsche Supercup, Huisman is most known for his speed and ultimate consistency behind the wheel. Bob Faieta, from Southern California, will join the team having campaigned many races in 2012 with his own organization, Competiton Motorsports. Experience in both ALMS and the IMSA GT3 Cup ranks, Faieta is experienced and should provide a solid set of experiences to compliment Huisman. The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge will be run in concert with the IZOD IndyCar Series on the same weekend.

Though Huisman was originally scheduled to race in the VLN race at the Nürburgring this weekend, his Frikadelli Racing Team was keen to release the Dutch ace from his driving duties now that an opportunity like this has arisen.

PATRICK HUISMAN: [i]“I’m very happy to join Green Hornet Racing for this weekend’s Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge and am very eager to help the team achieve their ambitions. I will see a lot of acquainted faces this weekend within the team, which makes it extra nice to give it my best. Finally, I would like to thank Frikadelli racing for releasing me from my driving duties in Germany this weekend and allowing me to purchase this challenge!”[\i]
